My blog-as-a-brain-dump includes, hopefully on a regular basis, posts about what I'm grateful for. Obviously my children and husband are given so I'm not going to add those. Or perhaps I should....hmmm.
- That my horrible day (Thursday) is nearly here and over. It's horrid for specific reasons but also I've crammed too much in. Or maybe that's good? Anyway, it's nearly the weekend.
- My new fridge/freezer is on order and Will Change My Life. I know that's a lot to ask of a mere appliance but trying to cram seven people's worth of food into a not-quite-big-enough fridge/freezer is not easy.
- My book group: well, it's not mine exactly but I was invited so maybe it is a bit (even if it wasn't my idea). Anyway, it's re-ignited my love of reading which is all you can ask of a book club isn't it. Oh and friendship. Seems to be delivering on all fronts really.
- Books. Obviously linked to number three, but how wonderful books are. Brilliant. Life changing. Amazing. I feel so lucky to have easy access to them. Today I wanted a book but am on a Budget so nipped to our fab second-hand bookshop here and found what I was looking for.
- The extra three hours I got to spend with my eldest on our own thanks to an unexpected school closure. I know things like that aren't easy if you work but I don't so I'm rejoicing (maybe that should be number six). Anyway it was lovely. It involved a coffee shop and books (which seem to be featuring quite heavily in this list) so all good.
- That our house if finally, actually coming together. The kitchen still needs finishing off although I can't quite think how at the moment. Still, it's all a lot better than it was.
- The thank-you card I received from a gardening club member. Unexpected too and very sweet.

What books are you reading in your book group (and elsewhere) other than the Buddhism one you mentioned before.
Books are definitely my de-stress. Trouble is that I like to totally immerse myself, to the neglect and detriment of my poor family, who seem to need feeding and other attention on a very frequent basis. Certainly more frequently than I like to interrupt my book! So I have to ration myself.
At the moment going for the easy but fun medieval murder-mystery type thing. Enjoyable, but quick.
