Quite often I feel my life is just one big...chaotic mess. House renovations still ongoing, seven people living in a smallish place - ugh, it all feels too much quite often.
But there is one spot I have complete and utter control over and (this is sad, I know) it's my windowsill. I've spoken about it before. It's the only place I can have a nature table type of arrangement. I would love to have a proper nature table in my hall, or perhaps in the family room. One day....
So far the Nature Sill has undergone two changes, and now we have the third. Even though we "don't do" Valentine's Day I still received this wonderful bunch of tulips. So much nicer than roses I think.
Now I'm wondering what I shall be displaying on my windowsill next month....Do you have a nature table or a special spot in your home for nature finds?
Gorgeous, what a beautiful colour. Our "nature table" is really just a big wooden bowl filled with leaves, acorns, and other bits of outdoorsy stuff. Our littlest one gets into everything, so if we made it a windowsill, or table, it would no longer be a nature table, but a nature house.

They're gorgeous. We don't do Valentines Day, hence the house being void of flowers. My windowsills have started to be put to use again after the first batch of seed was sown yesterday.

what a wonderful idea..a nature sill, and inspiring that you do it in the smallest most contested of spaces. No excuse for me (apart from the cats will probably eat, hide, spoil it.). I loved yours, tracing it back through your earlier blogs (good to have the links).

Sometimes I feel like the whole house is a homage to nature....plenty of cobwebs in corners, plenty of mud walked into carpets and adorning various clothing and footwear, plenty of nature finds hidden in pockets and forgotten....you get the picture.
But I agree it is lovely to have things that you like in a special place. I had a lovely row of 5 amaryllis in red pots on the kitchen windowsill till recently. However, it made pulling the blind down difficult after dark. I suppose there has to be a price.
Your photo is lovely as usual, thanks for sharing it.

Jo, I'd love to have seeds on this particular windowsill but it gets no sun so they go all leggy. Will have to take over sills in children's bedrooms (not ideal either).

Tulips are my favourite too. These look lovely.

Love the flowers. I will definitely be collecting nature finds for my daughters this year.

Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog - I am wondering whether to keep my allotment on this year - I find it so hard making time to go - the fact you have a great blog, five children and an allotment keeps me going - x
