It has been a long time. So long, I daren't look at the blog itself and see when I last posted. I'm not entirely sure what happened there. I have, really, sort of weaned myself off the internet. Well, off putting myself out there. I try and visit Twitter but I kind of forget. And I only read a handful of blogs now.
Thing is I have missed this blog. Or rather missed the creative outlet it's given me. So I'm here. I am sure no one else is but that's ok. Really. I'm not chasing ads, watching statistics or trying to build a career through the screen.
I cannot wait until the end of term. I'm looking forward to constructing houses out of cake, lounging around in pyjamas and watching Charlie Brown's Christmas.
I am here! Seriously though I know what you mean. I love the creative outlet a blog can give you but it is all too easy to be sucked up in to the world of statistics and thinking that everyone should be reading what you have to say. I can remember earlier on this year one of my blog posts got over 2000 hits. For some that may not be many hits per post but for someone like me who gets only double figure viewings I suddenly had visions of book deals, a stellar career and all the rest. But after a few days of responding to hundreds of comments I started to think that maybe "being out there" was not for me. The next post I made went back to normal viewing figures and my merry band of loyal commenters. Secretly I was quite glad. Now I treat my blog as what it was always intended for. A creative outlet. I have also abandoned Facebook but I do like to Tweet.
All the best, Natalie

Hello Deb, it's nice to see you! I really enjoy reading your blog, I have 6 children (ages 5-15) and so much of what you write rings true for me!
I can't wait for the end of term too, lots of baking, making decorations, cleaning glitter out of everywhere and possibly planting the garlic I buy every year and forget about until we're all wondering what the funny smell is!
Hope you can enjoy the last few frantic days of term!

I'm still here too! I've missed your blog, so it's lovely to hear from you again.
I know what you mean though, Twitter and blogging are very time consuming.
Have a lovely Christmasxx

I do like it when people whose blogs I read sometimes disappear for a while to do other things. Not because I get tired of reading them - just because I worry about people who live their lives on and for the internet.

Lovely to hear from you again! Ah! Charlie Brown's Christmas... just been listening to the soundtrack via Spotify, definitely my favourite Christmas music ever.

I feel exactly the same about my blog. The thing is, if i don't write my blog I don't read other peoples. Maybe I need to use that as my inspiration?
See you again in 2013
